Get Well Soon Lou Party [OPEN]

 Val had worked hard turning her precious garden into a space suitable for a party. She knew how stressed out and awful Lou must feel right now and she was determined that she would shake her right back into the cheerful voice of reason she normally was. Messages had been sent out to anyone who had any connection to Lou the night she came home from the hospital and Val prayed people would have time to show up.

Every branch and bush in the garden had been strung with fairy lights, the strings hidden so they looked more like floating globes of light. Chairs and tables had been tucked into empty spaces and various snacks and alcohol had been set up on a long table off to the side. She'd taken into consideration the rather... aphrodisiac effect these get-togethers seemed to have and small nooks out of the way of the rest of the party had been set up and thoroughly charmed with privacy charms. More charms sent out an thread of magic to draw anyone who appeared to be looking for privacy towards them.

Sitting herself down in the middle of everything, she spent an hour putting the strongest protection spells she could in a bubble around the party. They wouldn't do anything to keep those who wandered away from the party safe, but hopefully they would keep those in the bubble safe for the duration of the party.

A quick charm on her flowers so they wouldn't be trampled or picked, a call to Lou to ask her to come over, and a shower and an outfit change later, she was ready. Taking a deep breath, she turned on the soft, not too energetic music she'd put together, and flopped down into a chair to wait.

Alfie wasn’t quite sure why he was at the party. He of course wanted to show his support for Lou, but he’d been working at the lodge for 10+ hours and the amount of physical tasks he’d done that day had left him exhausted. Having given a lift to a few of the people in his block, and done a quick round of ‘hellos’ and ‘how are yous’, he’d spotted a little nook that looks pretty comfy. He was just going to sit down for a few minutes, really. Rolling his sleeves up, practically a luxury now his Mom wasn’t here to have to hide his tattoo from, he felt his eyes drooping. Two minutes later and the music had helped him drift off to sleep.

Riley thinks she sees someone familiar step off into one of her sister's private nooks. She follows the man, waving a few of Val's charms off when she finds him. "Alfie?--oops," she quickly lowers her voice, thinking he's adorable right now and she just has to send a pic to Les. She pulls out her phone, moving close to Alfie, and kneels in front of him to take a selfie with the sleeping man. Giggling, she quickly sends the picture to Les.

Riley tried to help her sister with decorating, but ultimately she ended up knocking everything down until Val told her to go put on a pretty outfit for Lou, probably just to get her sister out of her hair while she perfected everything. "Soooo-Yuuunnnnn" she calls, peaking out the front door and looking around for Val. "Can't I just wear shorts? Lou loves shorts!"

"Dress, unnie." Val calls from where she's stretched out at a table. "You have so many nice summer dresses. I don't know why you won't wear them for parties."

"Fine! But only for Lou." She sticks her tongue out at Val before disappearing back into the house where she quickly changed, tripping over her shoes a few times along the way back out. "That's right," she says as she walks out to her sister. "I'm wearing my cat dress."

Val smirks slightly. "You think I'm gonna protest, but I won't. At least it's a dress."

After drinking Riley's potion and transforming back to himself, Tristan received the text from Val and instantly set out on making as many pies as he could, a variety of flavors, from vanilla mint to coconut mango surprise, and with as much cheering, soothing, and warmth charms as he could put into them. He tries to remember Lou's favorites, and he makes sure to bring two jugs, one with coffee, and another with hot chocolate. He hopes its enough to meet the needs of the party. He also brings a small, prettily wrapped parcel and a get well card he magicked together using a design technique he learned from his mother.

He knocks on the Jung's door.

"Special pie delivery?"

Val feels someone breach the spells in front the door that let her know when someone's there and hauls herself out of the chair. Poking her head around the corner, she sees Tristan with pies and jugs of hot drinks.

"Oh my god, you're amazing," she sighs, swooping over to help him carry everything. "Everything's in the back, if you wanna set this stuff down. I'm Val, by the way."

"Well, I didn't want to disappoint, so I kind of brought a bit of everything?" He says with a grin. Loveliness clearly runs in the family.

"Alright, in the back? Any place in particular you want things? I don't want to mess up any plans," he says as he follows her out back. "I'm Tristan. Riley's told me a little about you, all good things of course."

"Trist- Ohhhh. You're Tristan! Riley's told me a bit about you as well," she says, a vaguely evil smile dancing across her face. "There's a long table set up for food. It's kind of hard to miss. So, you bake, hm?"

After a few days of rest, Grant's feeling almost 100% better. Still, his doctor has him on at lease one crutch and asks him to stay off of it as much as possible. No way in hell he'd miss a party for Lou though.

He arrives at the Jung house, slipping in through the small crowd that's gathered, and takes a seat on a bench in the garden. It's gorgeous. Something he's sure is all Val's doing.

Val nearly blows past him without noticing he's there, she's so wrapped up in making sure everything's perfect.

"Grant!" she breathes, out of breath from all her running aronud. "You came! Hi!"

He almost jumps when Val yells his name. "Slow down, crazy. You almost bowled that punch cart over. Oh, PS hi," he smiles.

"Not crazy, just bus- Do not pluck that rose, mister. I will pluck your goddamn fingers off." she snaps at a rather terrified looking young man. "Sorry, people keep trying to touch my flowers. They're charmed but I don't like it anyway. How's your leg?"

Riley appears beside Grant out of nowhere, in her black cat dress and holding a plate filled with cake. "Ever hurt my sister in any way and I'll douse your manhood with an unnamed, incurable disease, got it?" She smiles. "Anyway, enjoy the party, grab some punch, the cake is delicious, bye!"

Grant's jaw drops for a moment. "Well, I'm scared."

Lou had really wanted to say no to anything that meant leaving the house, but this was Val. And she knew Val was going to worry about her until Lou hugged her with a big smile on her face and made a silly mom-joke. Or older sister, maybe she was lucky with just being seen as an older sister.

So she had showed up. And, after stumbling into the garden on those stupid crutches: "Oh my fu- fri- oh my bleeping gods, what did you do with your garden? It's so incr-" Don't cry. "beautiful!"

Lara walked up to Lou grinning. "You look much better."

"Dressed and washed?" She waved a crutch. "Stupid, stupid things."

She winced in sympathy. "I'm glad. Hows the leg?"

Val grins as she pulls herself out of her chair and rushes over, tugging Lou into a hug. "It's nothing. I just thought you'd like a little cheering up party."

"How's your leg feeling now? Did you call a doctor for a house visit yet?" she asks, pulling back to look her over carefully. "Come on, I have plenty of seats set up for you."

"Is that a comment about the size of my behind? Because we the people just can't help having something there, compared to all the pancakes you -"

She frowns, then giggles. "Sorry. I'm going to blame the five aspirins I had before leaving my house as a pick me up. One seat will do just fine, Val."

Lara smiled at the decorations. Val had done a great job and the whole place glowed. Following the sound of music Lara went through the trees to find the party.

Val spotted Lara as she showed up, running over with a grin. "You made it! Hi! How are you?" she babbles, looking her over. "I haven't seen you since all this drama started happening."

Lara grins at Val. "Hi you. Yes I'm fine." She looked around. "This is lovely."
