Get Well Soon Lou Party [OPEN]

 Val had worked hard turning her precious garden into a space suitable for a party. She knew how stressed out and awful Lou must feel right now and she was determined that she would shake her right back into the cheerful voice of reason she normally was. Messages had been sent out to anyone who had any connection to Lou the night she came home from the hospital and Val prayed people would have time to show up.

Every branch and bush in the garden had been strung with fairy lights, the strings hidden so they looked more like floating globes of light. Chairs and tables had been tucked into empty spaces and various snacks and alcohol had been set up on a long table off to the side. She'd taken into consideration the rather... aphrodisiac effect these get-togethers seemed to have and small nooks out of the way of the rest of the party had been set up and thoroughly charmed with privacy charms. More charms sent out an thread of magic to draw anyone who appeared to be looking for privacy towards them.

Sitting herself down in the middle of everything, she spent an hour putting the strongest protection spells she could in a bubble around the party. They wouldn't do anything to keep those who wandered away from the party safe, but hopefully they would keep those in the bubble safe for the duration of the party.

A quick charm on her flowers so they wouldn't be trampled or picked, a call to Lou to ask her to come over, and a shower and an outfit change later, she was ready. Taking a deep breath, she turned on the soft, not too energetic music she'd put together, and flopped down into a chair to wait.

Riley shakes her head as she walks off to the food table to grab a drink. "I know you too well, Soo-Yun," she calls out.

"You wish!" she calls after her, sticking out her tongue.

"If you do, blame the person closest to you," she teases. "I dunno, Val may have loved the crown and threatened you a lot less. But then I'd hate to see your hair get eaten."

Riley looks back at the banner and smiles. "I'm sure she'll love them."

Grant laughs, picking up the water and taking a sip. "Okay, I should be terrified by your evil genius mind, but I like it."

"You've made that pretty apparent with the whole hero complex thing."

"Evil is a subjective term," she grins, leaning on the table to watch him. "Is it really evil if I'm actually helping you?"

"Yeah well, that applies to you too then, I guess."

"Oh, tucking that idea away in case of an emergency," he nods at her with faux solemnity. "My hair is too pretty to be eaten."

"I hope so," he says with a grin. "Oh, and I meant to ask this earlier, but what night works best for you?"

"When in doubt, blame someone else. At least where Val's concerned. Just don't blame me, I get in enough trouble," she winks. "It's true. It'd be a tragedy."

"Oh, right." Riley feels her face burn again at the mention of their date. "I'm free for the next several nights, actually. Then I have a shift at Watersong."

"I would never dream of it," he assures her.

"Oh, you work at Watersong too? I didn't know that," he says. "Um. I'm available whenever. I don't typically have much of an exciting night life beyond staying in with my cat," he admits.

"I bartend a few nights out of the week." She nods in agreement. "Replace 'cat' with 'Val' and you pretty much have my life. Tomorrow night?"

"Oh nice! I'll have to come and see you bartend then. Do you use magic at all?" He gives her a mischievous grin. "Tomorrow night sounds fantastic!"

"I do, but only when Lara lets me." She ducks her head at the idea of Tristan seeing her at Watersong, a job that requires her to dress much differently than Coombs & Co. "Awesome. I'm excited!"

"I'm sure you're the most popular bartender," he tells with a grin.

"Me too! I'll pick you up at around 7:30?"

"I make the best drinks, I gotta say."

She nods. "7:30. I'll be ready."

"You're not letting me go until I do this, are you?"

She breaks off a piece of pie and hums with pleasure. "Oh good lords. Do sirens come in pie-size now? Because this makes me happy. Oh, I filed a complaint with the cab business. I didn't feel like I deserved rude impatience when exiting from the hospital. I mean I wasn't bitchy or something, right?"

Val grins, patting her shoulder. "No way in hell, Lou."

"Don't worry about it. You're totally in the right. That dude couldn't wait the two minutes it took to get you all situated. You're dealing with people coming from a hospital, dude," she grumbles. "You need to have more patience than that."

"Say dude again."

She giggles. "Okay, hell it is. Do you have a fork?"

She sticks her tongue out at Lou, scurrying off and coming back with a fork.

"At your service, madame," she teases.

"Carry on and you'll see me blushing pretty time soon." She pats Vals head. "Thank you so very much, loyal subject."

"I'm a real charmer, I know," she teases, swatting away the hand.

"One day you will surpass me."

"I'm pretty sure I've locked up a lot of people out there who thought the same way," he grins. He holds up a cookie for her.

She grinned. "So there is someone. Who?"

"N-no one!" she stammers, draining her wine. "Why do you ask?"

Val plucks the cookie out of his fingers, eating it in only a few bites. "Booo. You ruin all of my fun. I guess I won't wipe your memory," she sighs dramatically.

"Because you're blushing and drinking like a fish and you only worry about things being perfect if there's someone to be perfect for." She brushed a lock of hair out of Vals face and grinned. "So cough it up. Give me a name so I can vet him."
