She's now away from the police station. The clerk kept asking her too many questions and making her too anxious to even think. Finally she just told him that she needed a drink and when he left to fetch her a glass of water, she slipped out the front doors. She needs the police's help, needs someone who can do something to know that her sister is missing, but she also knows the rule about missing persons.

Riley's pacing around her sister's shop in the freezing cold, looking for any signs of a struggle, when her phone buzzes in her hand and she lets out a sigh of relief that it's James.

After hitting send, she pulls her phone to her ear again, calling Val for what has to be the hundredth time. "Please, please, please pick up," she begs, barely above a whisper.
