Val got the text from Alfie about Tristan's death and immediately went into overdrive. Abandoning the repotting she was in the middle of, she washed her arms of soil and tossed her apron to the side as she rushed into the main part of the house. She slid into Riley's bedroom and pulled down the covers, hauling out her favourite pyjamas and fluffing up her pillows. A quick sleep charm on her pillow, and she was out the door again, gathering her medical herbs and brewing an extremely strong pot of lavender and valerian root tea.

Pausing, she ran to her room and changed into a comfortable hoodie, figuring she'd be doing a lot of holding once her sister got back and wanting her to have the most comfortable surface to rest against possible. Chewing on her lip, she sits at the kitchen table and runs through a list of things she might need. Knocking her out and letting her sleep through her initial grief may be the best choice, she figures. The lavender tea would help with that but she stuffed a bit of dried chamomile into a pouch and shoved it under her pillow to infuse it through the room.

She sighs, feeling useless as she finishes what she can prepare before Ji-Yun arrives, and sits down on the corner of her bed. Wringing her hands, she waits and tries to prepare herself for the state her sister might be in.

Riley squirms. "No!"

She pokes her again, grinning. "Yes!"

"No!!" she tries to wriggle away. "You know how ticklish I am!"

"I'm well aware how ticklish you are," she laughs, catching her and tickling her harder. "Hence, why I'm tickling you."

"You're a demon!" She's laughing now, almost in tears, trying to push Val away, but her sister has always been freakishly strong.

"Damn straight!" she cackles, clinging onto her despite her attempts to push her off. "You're stuck in my tickle hell forever!"

"I'm going to hex you, Soo-Yun!"

"Nuh uh! I'll tell umma if you do! And then you'll be in trooouble!" she taunts her sister, laughing almost too hard to breathe.

"Ya! I'll tell umma you tickled me to death!" She kicks a little, trying anything to get out from Val's grasp.

Val yelps as the kick connects with her shin, flailing back as she falls off the bed and onto her ass. "Owwww! Unnie!"

Riley laughs at that, crawling to the edge of the bed to look at her sister on the floor. "No tickling your unnie."

Val pouts. "No kicking! Kicking isn't fair play!"

"What do you expect me to do when I'm being attacked, huh?"

"Not kick me off the bed, you butt!"

"See, that's exactly what you should expect."

"You're a butt," she mutters, sticking her tongue out. "See if I get you pizza ever again.'

"You will because even when I knock you on your butt, you still love me," she preens.

Val crosses her arms, snubbing her. "Maybe I don't anymore!"

"Um, who else are you going to use as a bed?"

"Grant~" she replies, sounding incredibly haughty. "We've already napped together once. He can replace you just fine."

Riley gasps. "No! I'm gonna curse him. Nap time is with me!"

"He doesn't kick me in the shins!"

"I'll make him."

"You'll make him kick me in the shins? And how will you do that?"

"I'll ask Les," she sticks her tongue out. "He knows a bit about stuff like that."
